Parish & Diocese

The parish is in the London Borough of Islington, although a number of parishioners live in the adjacent Borough of Haringey. We also verge on the Borough of Hackney. The auxiliary bishop responsible for our well-being is the Rt Revd Bernard Longley, formerly a priest of Arundel and Brighton diocese who taught in St John's Seminary, Wonersh. He also is responsible for other deaneries in what used to be the Eastern Area of the diocese.

MAPPING THE PARISH

During October, 2006 parishioners were invited to put pins into maps of the world and of Great Britain and Ireland to show where they came from. 374 parishioners put in their pins. This number did not include members of the Igbo and Congolese congregations which celebrate Mass in this church. The results are below. The significance of this relates not only to our own parish but to many similar parishes in the three diocese of Westminster, Southwark and Brentwood which cover the London area.
